In November, we visited the studio of S.C. Rolf just over the border in River Falls, WI. Steve is an accomplished potter with a local and national following, and he's a warm and thoughtful maker. Steve showed us his studio, glaze room, showroom in the front of his house, and the kiln he designed and built (which was firing while we were there). We had a chance to ask him both technical and aesthetic questions and hear about Steve's experience building a successful business. Steve is one of several local artists who open their studios to MN NICE and give critiques to students in the program.
How lucky we were to visit at length with the generous and brilliant Steve Rolf!
