Fall Critique

MN NICErs had a thoughtful group critique to end the block. Mike Helke, local potter and a MN NICE Affiliate Artist, joined us for the discussion.

Final Critique

We finished up our 8-month program with a group critique. Amy Santaferraro was our guest for the critique this block. Everyone had great insights and suggestions about one another's work as we look ahead to a final exhibition in NCC's Emily Galusha Gallery in September.

The group discussed work in progress during Monday's class. Everyone's making big changes!

Block 2 Critique

We finished up the second block of the program this week. Mike Helke, a potter and educator from River Falls, WI, joined us as guest artist for a group critique. Mike has been meeting individually with several students throughout the year, and it was great to have him join us for a larger group discussion. Students showed both finished work and work in progress.

Critique!

We had a group critique at the end of Block 1 with invited guest Heather Nameth Bren. It was great to have a new perspective, and she led everyone in a feisty critique that had students talking for days. Heather is a professor of ceramics at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. She also is helping MN NICE this year by meeting with students individually to discuss their studio work.
